Super Sensitive World or No?

Alrighty folks it's group interaction time. I am going to break away from the norm of blogging about horror and geekness to address a topic. I've been slightly irritated by this mass of negative comments based on a picture that I posted online. The question posed is are these people being too sensitive or am I being too sensitive. First off we shall start with the picture in question.

This is a picture of my 15 year old dog that we saved from the shelter. When people adopt pets they rarely adopt old dogs. We saw this dog and fell in love and she has been a huge part of our family for two years now. Despite her old age she has the personality of a wild woman, needless to say she fits right in. She is spoiled and sleeps on a better mattress than we do. Sometimes we like to cut her hair and put a little bit of color in it to show off her wild personality. Yes the color is animal safe and washes out without harming the dog. I decide to post this picture on reddit to show off my awesome dog. Apparently after posting this picture I am an animal abuser and evil person. One person even wrote "that is horrible, you should be reported". OK are you fucking kidding me people. I apparently have to post a disclaimer that no dogs were injured in the making of this picture and all animals involved signed a voluntary consent form.

The question is, has political correctness and all these other social issues made people super sensitive? Can people no longer see something and just smile? Must they immediately think something was done wrongly. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but can someone really say that I was causing harm and/or mental distress to this animal. I think it's safe to say that there are more pressing issues in the world then if I give my dog a pink Mohawk. Just saying....

All the shenanigans!!!!

Top of the morning good people!!!! Got a lot accomplished today. Had some time to sit and read up on the bullshit news, catch up on some good blogs, sketched up a design for my next tattoo and watched some trailers for some decent upcoming movies.

It's safe to say we can start out by highlighting the newest commander of villains Mads Mikkelsen.

Mads Mikkelsen

This Danish born actor most likely exploded into most people's radar when he starred at the genius of creepy Hannibal Lector in NBC's 'Hannibal'. His skill along side with Hugh Dancy's who plays Will Graham creates an unrelenting marriage of talent. Look him up on IMDB for some other roles he has played in other American and Scandinavian films.

Author interview

Stephanie Shamblin Gray from comicmonsters.com caught up with author K.N. Porter about her upcoming comic series 'Cutter' .

Geek thoughts and more

I know it has been awhile since I've been on the social radar and I do apologize, although it's unlikely that anyone noticed. First timers to the blog, know this...I am not an artist, an author or anyone famous; I am simply a geek. The whole purpose of this blog is to embrace horror and to try my damnedest to promote indie creators. Anyone just getting into the business understands the importance of reaching out to the masses to establish a fan base. I am not a professional but I am a techie and try my hardest to pimp your shit through the social media circus. Alright then on to the business...

Update from the 'Cutter' Team

As far as the Comic Book goes well K.N. Porter and Christopher Gibbs are patiently waiting while the book is in the process of being printed. There have many many set backs due to computer mishaps and such but stick with us the release date is around the corner. In the meantime K.N. continues to work on her novel and some other small works that should be coming to fruition here shortly. Mr. Gibbs continues to bust out amazing artwork for the upcoming 'Cutter' books and is hard at work on the business end of production.

Monster Madness

Alright, so there may be a glimmer of hope for all of us monster lovers out there. It seems that the quality of good ole monster movies has declined in the recent years. Now Cabin in the Woods was definitely a movie that I would put on my monster awesomeness scale at about an 8/10. It just seems that the film industry is persistent in regards to vomiting a bunch of slasher remakes and paranormal movie mishaps all over us. I have always been a fan of foreign films/television and in my scope of research I have found this upcoming movie that may have some potential. The French have been dangling this movie in my face for months now and refuse to give me a U.S. release date. Dead Shadows starring John Fallon not to be confused with Dark Shadows starring Johnny Depp. The trailer depicts a bit of zombie action with a mix of alien tentacle goodness and of course a bat wielding hero . The reviews that I have read so far have been very promising and although the movie will never hit U.S. theaters I am sure it will circulate through Netflix, Amazon or other movie sites. I apologize that this is not an actual movie review but more of a rambling about my excitement, I just wanted to share with everyone who may not be familiar with international film. Cheers!!!

It's who I am...

Ello good people… First Post, where to start? It’s hard for me to describe what this here blog will be about, however if I had to break it down to a genre I can assure you it is Horror & Sci-Fi. My goal is to get on here and write and/or connect to the world of creative peoples in an effort to prevent my brain from rotting. My current full time profession has a way of sucking the intelligence out of you. Soon one becomes that dumbed down fool that finds themselves slang banging in conversations with intelligent people in the real world. For the sake of everyone involved I will not name said profession but will just mention that one in said profession works with the more law abiding citizens of the county (Sarcasm included). I can’t say that I will write on here every day or even every week but I can say that I will try to make checking my blog out worth your time.

My other “profession” more like hobby is that of the assistant/handler for the talented Horror Author/ Comic Book writer K.N. Porter. I assure you this blog will remain professional and I will avoid carrying on about how amazing she is in every other sentence. I will be promoting the shit out of her stuff though; I mean that is the point of this whole social media arena in the first place, right?

So let’s recap… You will probably enjoy this blog if you enjoy one or more of the following:

• Anything Horror (Books, Artists, TV, Movies, Conventions)
• Anything Sci-Fi (Books, Artists, TV, Movies, Conventions)
• Comic Books/Graphic Novels and Comic Conventions
• Independent Authors
• Very talented artists
• Eclectic taste in music
• Reading about others maniacal travel adventures (Pictures included)
• Hellboy, Doctor Who, Torchwood, The Walking Dead, True Blood, Guillermo Del Toro
• other weird shit….

Well thanks for your time, if in fact you actually spent the time to read anything but this last sentence.
